Community Buddies - Castle Ward, Tamworth

Tue 10 Apr 2018

NEW 12 month pilot  - Community Buddy scheme to support local residents that live in the Castle Ward in Tamworth.

Support Staffordshire will be recruiting and training a team of volunteers to become community buddies to offer a friendly ear to local residents, signposting and supporting accessibility to voluntary, community and health services.

The purpose is to connect community members with community buddies to enable them to attend local groups and to encourage and assist people facing barriers to access support within their local community.

The support will be time limited to a maximum of 6 sessions so that eventually the community member can attend on their own.

If you would like your group/organisation to be a place that community buddies can bring members to then please let me know;

If you think you would like to become a buddy or know of somebody that would like to please get in touch;

If you know of a community member that lives in the castle ward of Tamworth that can be referred then please get their consent to refer and then get in touch.

Please make referrals if you know of somebody that may benefit from a buddy.  This can be to support them to volunteer, go to a new group, access health services, attend support, e.g counselling, be a travelling companion to go somewhere new.
