Celebrate Carers Week in Stoke-on-Trent
Tue 30 May 2017
Are you a Carer or do you know someone who is? Do you work with or support Carers in the city?
It is estimated that there are more than 28,000 Carers in the city, each taking care of someone who matters to them. Caring affects people of all ages, including children and young people up to the age of 18.
The work carers do is recognised every year during Carers Week, a national annual campaign to raise awareness of caring and to recognise the vital contribution which carers make throughout the UK every day. This year, Carers Week will take place from 12 – 18 June 2017. To mark this special week, the Council and The Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Carers Hub are hosting a Carers Marketplace in the Kings Hall at Stoke on Thursday 15 June 2017 from 10:30 – 16:30. It will include information, stalls and demonstrations by a wide range of local organisations and businesses providing services to Carers and/or those they care for.
This event is supported by Carers UK. Details can be found on the Carers UK website, in addition to the Council and The Carers Hub websites. The event is open to Carers, professionals and anyone who would like to know more about how they can support Carers in the city.
Please come and help make this event a success for our Carers.
