Armed Forces Covenant Bulletin - Latest Edition

Tue 5 Sep 2017

In 2012 local authorities across Staffordshire, along with military leaders, NHS, Police, Fire and representatives from the VCSE sector formally signed its first Armed Forces Covenant at the National Memorial Arboretum.

Staffordshire has a long and proud military heritage which continues to this day, with the Defence Medical Services (DMS) in Lichfield and the Royal Signals in Stafford. In 2014 expansion and redevelopment works were completed at DMS Whittington to form a new Defence College of Healthcare Education & Training. This enables significant numbers of medical defence personnel to be trained. In 2015 Staffordshire welcomed two additional Signal Regiments from Germany as part of the Army’s rebasing Borona programme. The success of the two expansion programmes can be attributed to many organisations working together effectively.
