Are you Ready for GDPR?
Mon 16 Apr 2018
As many of you will be aware new data protection laws are coming with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) taking effect from 25 May 2018.
Your organisation should already be compliant with the existing Data Protection Act 1998 legislation and the GDPR builds on this. Many of you will have attended the information sessions delivered by The Community Foundation earlier on this year that provided useful guidance on preparing for GDPR
For those of you requiring further support the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) has produced a package of tools and guidance to help Voluntary and Community organisations (including charities) prepare for GDPR:
- A '12 Steps to take now' guide
- GDPR Checklists for Data Controllers and Data Processors
- GDPR Data Protection self assessment toolkit
- New ICO helpline for small organisations. Call 0303 123 1113 and select option 4
Support Staffordshire are also running a Data Protection Regulations session on the 8 May 2018 which will include an overview of GDPR.
