New Prevent Agenda Video Seeks to Inform

All Voluntary and Community sector providers are advised, as part of safeguarding responsibilities, to ensure that they familiarise themselves with their responsibilities under the government’s Prevent Agenda.

Prevent is part of the government’s national counter-terrorism strategy.  As the name suggests it focuses on preventing people becoming terrorists or supporting terrorism.

Grants Available from The England Illegal Money Lending Team

New funding is available from The England Illegal Money Lending Team to be used to benefit local communities.

The good news is that for the year 2016-2017 organisations will be able to apply for up to £5,000 to directly target an area affected by, or believed to be at risk of, illegal money lending to promote the Illegal Money Lending Team and the message that loan sharks should be avoided at all costs.

Your project idea will need to target illegal money lending and needs to be delivered by the 31st March 2017.

Workforce Development Funding (WDF) Open for Claims

The WDF is a funding stream from the Department of Health which is disbursed, in Staffordshire, by CareMatch.

It’s a limited pot of money which funds qualification units and supports the ongoing professional development of staff across adult social care in England.

The WDF can make a significant contribution towards the costs of workers completing health and social care qualifications, units and Apprenticeships.

New Daphne Call for Projects to Respond to Violence Against Women & Children

The European Commission has issued a new call for proposals under the Rights, Equality and Citizenship Programme. It has €3m funding to provide Action grants to support transnational projects that support and protect women and children victims of violence and to bring about more frequent reporting of such violence. In particular, the priorities of this call for proposals cover two strands. Read more

People's Postcode Trust Small Grants Programme

Through its Small Grants Programme, the Trust offers grants of between £500 and £20,000 (£10,000 in Wales) to small organisations and community groups for projects lasting up to 1 year (for organisations in Wales 6 months. Projects must be for the advancement of community development. Applicants that are not formally registered as a charity with OSCR / Charity Commission can apply for up to £2,000 in funding. Read more
