Katharine House Hospice are hosting training for care home staff in Advance Care Planning and Mental Capacity Act run by National Council for Palliative Care. This training is designed to support staff to provide high quality, compassionate end of life care for people with dementia.

Please note a compulsory requirement of attending is the completion of two online questionnaires 1 & 3 months after the workshop.

Lunch and refreshments are provided.

Places are funded and limited to 20 per workshop given on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Charity Commission: Trustees Must Ensure Fundraising Reflects Their Charity’s Values

The Charity Commission (‘the commission’), the independent regulator of charities in England and Wales, has released its new guidance for charities trustees about fundraising from the public. Trustees have a key role in overseeing their charity’s fundraising and ensuring it reflects their charity’s values. The guidance states 'Many charities need to ask the public for money.

CASS Job Vacancy: Community Project Development Worker

A rare opportunity to work for Carers Association Southern Staffordshire (CASS) has arisen. They are looking for an enthusiastic, multi-skilled person to join their team to support community, project development and assist in increasing capacity within the organisation.

This challenging role requires an adaptable person who is well motivated and enjoys engaging with the public. Previous community work is not essential but the desire to make a positive change to assist and promote support for family carers is.

Good numeracy, literacy and IT skills are essential.

Team Staffordshire – Call for VCSE Delivery Representatives

On 19 May 2016 Team Staffordshire agreed to formally extend and develop its remit.

The group was originally convened in December 2014 to bring together VCSE and other local partners in order to bid to the Building Better Opportunities Fund. This it did successfully in early 2016 and we have recently heard that we have been successful in the Stafford and South Staffordshire area (where the lead partner is Business Enterprise Support, BES).

Building on this success, Team Staffordshire will now seek to work across any appropriate local theme including but not limited to:
