Make Some Noise is excited to offer two new roles working alongside our experienced Programme Development Officers to provide project support on a range of inclusive music making programmes, to enable children and young people to develop their personal resilience and thrive as a result of engaging in empowering music opportunities.  Predominantly working with organisations across Staffordshire & Stoke on Trent, we are interested in challenging perceptions and offering new ways to move lives beyond disadvantage through music.

Support Staffordshire delivers a £10m inward investment present for its 5th birthday

A leading Staffordshire membership and umbrella body for the voluntary sector is celebrating its 5th birthday in style after announcing it has secured more than £10m of inward investment over the same period – all going towards boosting local communities.

Support Staffordshire, which has assisted more than 1000 charities and organisations since it was formed, marked ‘helping its members to be the best they can be’ at a special anniversary party at Stafford Gatehouse.

Community Safety and Knife Crime Survey

As part of a new contract, SCVYS has been asked to undertake research around Community Safety and Knife Crime (Youth Violence). Specifically, we are interested in knife crime and whether this is a growing issue around the county. 

Taking part in the survey is completely confidential and anonymous. We only ask for age and postcode to enable comparisons between different areas in the county and different age groups.

Staffordshire Day 2019

Staffordshire Day is fast approaching, but have no fear – it’s not too late to join the celebrations!

The big day, Wednesday 1st May, is now less than three weeks away, but Enjoy Staffordshire are still looking for voluntary organisations to host fundraisers and shout about the county on social media.

They have written The Great Big Staffordshire Quiz and can supply quiz sheets and posters to help you promote your evening – as well as including your event in the Staffordshire Day listings on their website and promoting it on social media.

Comprehensive voluntary sector safeguarding resources to be developed by new expert partnership

Unprecedented level of expertise as 13 national umbrella bodies and organisations join forces to help facilitate safeguarding improvement

A comprehensive suite of free safeguarding tools and advice will soon be available to the voluntary sector following the award of £570,000 by the National Lottery Community Fund to the Safer Social Sector Partnership.
