Canoe Foundation grant funding

Grants for clubs, community groups and regions across the UK with an active interest in wider canoeing participation.

The principle functions of the Canoe Foundation are to raise money; inform and educate; and allocate funds, in line with its main purpose to “support all to enjoy and benefit from the experience of paddling on our water in a sustainable manner”. The Foundation does this through grant making that facilitates improvements to suitable landing and launching points and by promoting the conservation of inland waterways for the benefit of all sectors of the community.

Home Office - Anti-Knife Crime Community Fund

Grants are available to voluntary and community sector groups for community projects in England and Wales which reduce knife crime and have a positive impact on young people who are at risk of carrying a knife and committing a crime.

The maximum grant available is £30,000 for single projects that are completed by 30 March 2020.

Voluntary and community sector groups and organisations in England and Wales can apply, including:

PA/Head Office Administrator - ASIST

We currently have a maternity vacancy for a PA/Head Office Administrator; this is temporary for an 8 month period (September 2019 – April 2020 inclusive).

The role is 37 hours per week Monday to Friday (this includes some out of office hours for Executive meetings).

Salary is £18,144 p/a.

As I write we are in the depths of discussions with PCNs (Primary Care Networks – clusters of GPs, working together) about the opportunity provided by national funding for social prescribing link workers. Ourselves and VAST have pitched a bold proposition to place this service at the heart of the local voluntary sector, by employing the workers through a consortia approach. This would mean generalists working for ourselves and VAST, able to signpost and support patients to access the broadest range of community and voluntary sector services; instead of drawing upon medical services.

Middleport Matters Community Trust is a community business that aims to restore Middleport, Stoke-on-Trent, as a safe, welcoming and thriving place for everyone. We are looking for a hard-working, organised and self-motivated individual who must also have excellent communication and people skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for the reception area of our new hub, carry out administration duties and help Middleport Matters to develop.
