Cyber PROTECT Advice from Staffordshire Police

Covid-19 remains a very current concern and is already causing angst for many people. Unfortunately, we are already seeing people and businesses being exploited because of the opportunity this situation is providing to criminals through cybercrime and fraud. Cyber criminals will exploit vulnerabilities in systems and networks, and will exploit fear in people. Due to this current raised concern, we are sending out important Cyber PROTECT advice to our network.

Be a Good Neighbour

We’ve noticed lots of people want to help as the Corona Virus causes more people to stay at home – this is great, but people aren’t always sure where to start and some are worried about safety or fraud. We want to encourage neighbourliness in these uncertain times, so here are our top tips:

Veolia Environmental Trust

The Veolia Environmental Trust, originally known as the Onyx Environmental Trust, was set up in 1997 under the Landfill Communities Fund (formerly the Landfill Tax Credit Scheme) and awards monies derived from landfill tax to support a wide range of environmentally focused projects throughout England.

The Trust is a charity and an Environmental Body registered under the Landfill Tax Regulations established to protect, preserve and improve the environment for the benefit of the public.

Magic Little Grants

The Magic Little Grants Fund is funded by players of the People’s Postcode Lottery.

Localgiving and Postcode Community Trust are working together again in 2020 to provide small grants to small local charities and community groups in England, Scotland and Wales to help them deliver engaging physical activities, which help to overcome barriers to participation.

The aim of the fund is to support the work of organisations that are engaging hard to reach individuals, encouraging them to take part in physical activity to help improve their physical health.
