This is a 10 hour course spread over 4 x 2.5 hour sessions. Attendees must be able to attend all dates as follows: 20th January | 27th January | 3rd February | 10th February 2020 | 13:00 - 15:30 each day.

Overview:

Disability Welfare Benefits Advocacy Worker

Salary of £18,476 with pension contribution and Employee Assistance Programme.

The Disability Solutions West Midlands and The Henry Smith Charity partnership are seeking to recruit a full time (37hrs per week) Disability Welfare Benefits Advocacy Worker to support people with disabilities and long-term health conditions to secure appropriate welfare benefits, offering support through form-filling, support during work capability assessments and face-to-face assessments, focusing support for those who experience difficulty with self-efficacy.

Let's Get Digital - FREE Digital Innovation Workshop for community groups and voluntary organisations in Staffordshire

This session is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund


As the world is going digital we often come across the phrase ‘digital innovation’ but what does this actually mean?

This FREE workshop will look at the range and benefits of digital technologies, how they can enhance your organisation and how to overcome barriers in applying for funding.

Search begins for panel members to help transform health and care across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent

The search has begun for volunteers to form a new People’s Panel that will provide views and advice on plans to transform health and care services from the comfort of their own homes.

The panel will play an active role in helping improve services and will consist of people who will represent a cross-section of local communities.

There are a range of categories in which to nominate your local unsung hero and we will be holding special awards events in June, across the county, with 8 events in total. Village Halls Week 2020

Village Halls Week 2020 launches in January 2020 and we want to take the opportunity to bring it to your attention and explain the importance of the celebration.

Village Halls Week, taking place from 20th January 2020 to 26th January 2020, aims to celebrate England’s Village Halls. This includes their volunteers, their history, and the vital services they provide for rural communities. This year Support Staffordshire, as one of 38 members in the country of the ACRE network want to help to make it the biggest celebration yet. 

Tesco Bags of Help programme opens for 2020

Grants are available to support a wide range of community groups, organisations, charities, schools and other not-for-profit organisations with capital improvement projects for local community greenspaces in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Three community projects in each local area will be voted on by customers in Tesco stores throughout the UK, with projects changing every three months (prior to 2020 it was every other month).

Following the vote, grants will be awarded as follows:

First place - up to £2,000.

Second place - up to £1,000.
