Support Staffordshire Volunteer Star Awards Postponed

As the lockdown starts to ease there is still so much uncertainty around public gatherings.  We are continually monitoring the situation and we hope to be in a position to make a decision in July.  

In the meantime, NOMINATIONS WILL REMAIN OPEN until further notice so please continue to nominate individuals, groups, organisations or businesses.  You can find out more by visiting the awards information on our website.

Covid-19 Online Support Session: Lichfield and District

This online support session is open to anyone including:

  • Organisations/groups who are really struggling
  • Organisations/groups who are coping and may be able to help others
  • Anyone who wants to get a grasp on what is happening in the VCSE sector locally and nationally at the moment

You may just want to see a familiar, friendly face in these difficult times – everyone is welcome!

ONLINE TRAINING: Adapting and Recovering for Charities

This 90 minute online session via Zoom is aimed at community groups, mutual aid groups and voluntary organisations across Staffordshire.

There are many challenges that charities are facing at the moment with the current pandemic. You may be struggling to see the future clearly and how you will adapt and recover.

This session will cover ways in which you can still engage with your beneficiaries and stakeholders, adapt your services and risk assess for the future. There will be an opportunity to ask questions throughout.

This 90 minute online session via Zoom is aimed at community groups, mutual aid groups and voluntary organisations across Staffordshire.

Are you an established or a new group that is starting to look at the future and considering writing funding bids? Are you wondering where to start?

This online session will look at the basics of writing funding bids covering what funders are looking for, jargon and common terminology, evidencing need and project planning. There will be an opportunity to ask questions throughout.

This online session will look at what is a trustee? What are the responsibilities associated with being a trustee? How do trustees run good meetings in the current climate? There will be an opportunity to ask questions throughout.

ONLINE TRAINING: Recruiting and Supporting Volunteers responding to Covid-19

This 90 minute online session via Zoom is aimed at community groups, mutual aid groups and voluntary organisations across Staffordshire.

Have you gained lots of volunteers to help you respond to the current situation? Have you thought about how best to support them? Are you ensuring the volunteers are suitable for the tasks?

This online session will look at safe recruitment, basic training and resources available to them. There will be an opportunity to ask questions throughout.

 

ONLINE TRAINING: Policies and Procedures for Covid-19

This 90 minute online session via Zoom is aimed at community groups, mutual aid groups and voluntary organisations across Staffordshire.

Are you a group that has recently set up in response to the coronavirus? Do you want to put good procedures in place to make sure you are acting safely and responsibly?

This online session will take you through the basics of safety, safeguarding and data protection and help you develop simple practices to keep everyone safe. There will be an opportunity to ask questions throughout.
