Freelance Project Assistant - Meanwhile Space
Meanwhile Space is working in partnership with the Meanwhile Foundation and the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government (MHCLG) to deliver Open Doors: a pilot scheme taking place in five areas across England, matching landlords struggling to find tenants for their empty properties with community groups looking for space. To find out more about the project, please visit www.meanwhile.org.uk. Stoke-on-Trent is one of areas covered by this project.
Freelance Project Assistants are being recruited to give additional support to the core Meanwhile Space team. The role will supplement the team, filling in when travel or scheduling prevents a core staff member from being on site, and dependent on your own availability. You would need to be able to work independently to a pre-agreed set task list and to represent and communicate the values of Meanwhile Space effectively.
The role would suit a freelancer or student interested in adhoc work. There is no fixed term for the work and the option to refuse work is at the discretion of the contractor, although reliability is key. It is anticipated that in the first 3 months will require about 10-20 hours of work per month, paid an hourly rate of £10.75 ph. After 3 months, the requirements will be assessed. Flexibility is essential as evening and weekend work is likely and issues come up at short notice.
