On Wednesday 29 June 2016, 9am-1pm in Staffordshire we are convening local authorities and other commissioning authorities in the West Midlands to hear more about Staffordshire’s emerging approach and explore how to:
- Create resourceful communities where people are agents of change and shape their own lives
- Develop and support the role of co-production and people helping people in public services
- Strike a better balance between public sector as provider and public sector as enabler
- Work with the voluntary sector to cultivate leaders who can support new and existing social action projects, led by citizens.
Speakers include: Katy Owen, Head of Enabling in the Cabinet Office’s Social Action Team; Helen Riley, Deputy Chief Executive and Director for Families and Communities at Staffordshire County Council ; Andrew Donaldson, Head of Strategic Policy and Partnerships at Staffordshire County Council; and Sarah Lyall, Researcher at the New Economics Foundation.
