Are you exploring a more empowering approach to public service delivery, working in equal partnership with citizens? Do you want to see community capacity grow and develop in your area? Do you want to create more opportunities for people helping people and co-production?

The Cabinet Office Social Action Team, the New Economics Foundation (NEF) and Staffordshire County Council invite you to participate in our upcoming Regional Learning Event, focused on the theme of social action.

On Wednesday 29 June 2016, 9am-1pm in Staffordshire we are convening local authorities and other commissioning authorities in the West Midlands to hear more about Staffordshire’s emerging approach and explore how to:

  • Create resourceful communities where people are agents of change and shape their own lives
  • Develop and support the role of co-production and people helping people in public services
  • Strike a better balance between public sector as provider and public sector as enabler
  • Work with the voluntary sector to cultivate leaders who can support new and existing social action projects, led by citizens.

Speakers include: Katy Owen, Head of Enabling in the Cabinet Office’s Social Action Team; Helen Riley, Deputy Chief Executive and Director for Families and Communities at Staffordshire County Council ; Andrew Donaldson, Head of Strategic Policy and Partnerships at Staffordshire County Council; and Sarah Lyall, Researcher at the New Economics Foundation.
