Supportive Communities: Signposting, Safeguarding and Assistive Technology

This is a 1 hour FREE online session delivered by Support Staffordshire, working in partnership with Staffordshire County Council.

This session is designed to cover the basic elements of:-

How to effectively search for services to signpost the individuals you are supporting

What to do if you are worried that someone is at risk of or experiencing abuse or harm

How to help someone find simple, affordable and useful items of daily living equipment and technology

This is aimed at anyone who is working with or supporting older people within their communities and is a summation of the longer sessions that were delivered in the autumn of 2020.

‘Supportive Communities’ is a programme of work that supports older people to stay healthy and independent for longer. It’s about:

Supporting people to stay connected with their local community.

Helping people to find different solutions, so they can stay in their own homes for longer. This could be a new piece of daily living equipment or technology that supports independence.

Encouraging people to look after their own health and wellbeing, so they can lead a healthy, happy and fulfilling life.

Training certificates will be provided.
