Introduction to Welding
This course has been designed to introduce you to basic welding processes and the health & safety aspects related to welding practices; ideal for anyone interested in learning welding techniques for DIY or to progress onto gaining Welding qualifications.
Week 1 will entail a Health & Safety Induction before visiting the shop floor where welding terminology and course content will be discussed.
The following weeks will cover different welding processes.
This course is an ideal introduction to welding which can lead onto gaining qualifications such as MIG (Metal Inert Gas/MAG (Metal Active Gas) and TIG (Tungsten Insert Gas).
On completion of the course, attendees will be able to perform basic welding tasks, manage equipment to a competent standard and have a general understanding of safety procedures.
Materials are supplied.
You will be required to purchase your own Safety Boots and Overalls. (Please do not purchase any equipment until the course has been confirmed).
To be eligible for this course you need to be 19 years old by 31/08/15.
Start Dates: Tuesday 7 June 2016 and Thursday 9 June 2016.
Duration: 6 weeks.
