MEET OUR EXECUTIVE TEAM
Garry Jones, Chief Executive
Garry has been Chief Executive since the founding of Support Staffordshire in 2014, having coordinated the original merger. He was previously Chief Executive at York CVS and before that spent the best part of a decade in the nature conservation sector, working in education and community roles.
Outside of work he has previously been a trustee of both local and national charities, a hospital trust governor, and is currently an independent town councillor in his home town of Hednesford, where he lives with his partner and two young children.
Sandra Payne, Deputy Chief Executive
Sandra has been with Support Staffordshire since the merger in 2014; she was previously Acting Chief Executive at Lichfield & District CVS. She has been part of the voluntary sector in Staffordshire since 1996 managing various projects and being involved in local partnerships.
Sandra has also worked as a fundraiser for Help the Aged and has carried out a number of different volunteering roles. Prior to that, Sandra had a career in banking.
Sandra lives in Shropshire with her husband, they have three grown up children and two grandchildren.
Jill Norman, North Staffordshire Operations Manager
Jill joined Support Staffordshire after the merger in 2015 from being Chief Officer of Staffordshire Moorlands CVS since January 2004. Prior to that her career was in local government for 22 years, mostly working on economic development, with her last position being at Staffordshire Moorlands District Council.
Jill has worked in London, Devon, the Black Country (13 years in economic development at Sandwell MBC) and now the Staffordshire Moorlands, where she has lived, in Leek, since 1999.
On a voluntary basis, she is involved with Staffordshire Moorlands Athletics Club, being treasurer for a number of years; is a keen local historian; and is a director of a Leek based charity for young people with learning disabilities, Grow Moorlands.
Sally Groves, Southeast Staffordshire Operations Manager
Sally joined Support Staffordshire initially in 2015; originally as Connecting Communities and Development Facilitator and then more recently as East Staffordshire Team Leader. She previously worked as a child protection advocate for many years in the Derby area.
Outside of work, Sally has held many voluntary positions within her local community including Chair of the PTA at the local primary school.
Sally lives in Barton under Needwood with her husband, two teenagers and labradoodle Monty.
Jayne Ison, Finance Manager
Jayne joined Support Staffordshire in July 2017, previously working for an Adult Education College, Local Authorities and the Voluntary Sector.
Outside of work Jayne is a keen singer and is often seen performing with local Amateur Dramatics Societies. She is a life member of Walsall Operatic Society and also volunteers on the committee.
Jayne lives in Lichfield with her husband and daughter.
Lisa Carson, Fundraising Development Manager
Lisa joined the organisation in November 2020 and brings over 6 years experience in the charity sector, leading a growing Events Fundraising team at the local hospice. She developed and executed a successful and lucrative event fundraising strategy, building some fantastic and robust relationships along the way.
Lisa also has a wealth of experience working predominantly within international Marketing and Operations teams in the private sector.
Lisa lives in Stafford with her husband, two daughters, and 2 cats!
